Kutai National Park is one of the oldest research stations especially for wild orangutan and has contributed to developing tropical forest ecology. The biodiversity of Kutai National Park has attracted the interest of many researchers from within and outside the country to conduct research activities in this area, one of which is research on orangutans in Mentoko site.
The amazing Kutai National Park has wild orangutans, there is no feeding time as this place is not a tourist attraction. There is no luxury, you will stay in a very simple ranger camp with basic facilities and beautiful forest scenery. Enjoy the night walking to find nocturnal animals.Kutai National Park represents several principal vegetation types, including coastal/mangrove forest, freshwater swamp forest, kerangas forest, lowland flooding forest, ulin/meranti/kapur forest, and mixed Dipterocarpaceae forest. Balikpapan City & Surroundings :
We always start the tour of Orangutan Kutai National Park in the morning time, as it will take a long land transfer from Balikpapan to Sangatta where Kutai National Park is located.
