During the amazing river trip at Tanjung Puting National Park, we use a private traditional wooden riverboat, about 12m by 2m with a roof that forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides. The guide’s team includes the boatman, a cook, and an expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon, we will slowly explore the quiet river by boat while observing the monkeys along the riverside. The houseboat has a simple mattress, pillow, bottled “mineral” water, mosquito net, kitchen, and toilet.

Orangutan Tour Various of interest:
Explore the Tanjung Puting National Park, Tanjung Harapan Station has a feeding time of 15.00, where there are cute babies of orangutans, many kinds of birds, macaques, proboscis monkeys and other wonderful creatures of Borneo island. We will see the orchid and medical plants’ spots and also the Information Center.
Next, Pondok Tanggui Station is the second rehabilitation center and the feeding time is at 09.00 am, it’s the rehabilitation center for the new ex-captive orangutans. The last is Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rainforest and are also known as a research center for orangutans, the feeding time is at 14.00. Trek through tropical rainforest searching for wildlife, wild orangutans, birds, and other primates as well as tropical jungle plants.
The Pesalat Camp is one of the conservation camps in Tanjung Puting National Park. Usually, tourists will pass this camp when trekking to Camp Leakey, Pondok Tanggui, or Tanjung Harapan. This camp is also the favorite place for plant conservation and camping activities because it is quite safe from wild animal disturbances in the Tanjung Puting National Park conservation area.
This area is an area that was impacted by deforestation or forest burning. For this reason, efforts to save Pesalat Camp and the forests in Tanjung Puting National Park as a whole are carried out through reforestation activities. This activity also invites Tanjung Puting National Park visitors to participate and contribute to conservation efforts and maintain the environment so that the endemic animals there do not soon become extinct.
You will be directed and guided to carry out activities to plant various tree seedlings which will be useful for preserving forests at Tanjung Putting National Park. The various types of tree seeds that you will plant are mostly fruit tree seeds which will be useful for providing a food supply for orangutans and other endemic animals there. It’s apart from working to save the natural habitat of orangutans, proboscis monkeys, red langurs and other beautiful animals and plants.
