Bukit Bangkirai is a forest conservation preserved to tropical rain forest.
Bangkirai Hill
The area is named as Bangkirai Hill since many Bangkirai trees in it, some of the Bangkirai trees has reached 150 years with the height of 40 to 50 meters. The unique object in Bangkirai Hill is canopy bridge, a bridge that connects one tree to another, with 64 meters length and 30 meters height from the ground.
From the top of the canopy bridge we could see the beautiful Bangkirai rain forest, so green and amazing. We could have a chance to see wild small colourful bird, if lucky we could spot horn bill. The famous bird from Borneo island.

Bangkirai Hill is located in Samboja District of Kutai Kartanegara Regency at KM 38 Soekarno – Hatta highway, the main route between Balikpapan – Samarinda.
We could combine visiting Bangkirai Hill after joining Daily Visit at Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation at Samboja Lodge.
